Making my own Spring

We are still buried in snow but I have made my own Spring with this pattern from Mr. Finch and Selvedge magazine.  These are made from walnut ink dyed muslin and old velvet. No maintenance required but they may take a while to bloom!

Here is a brown March hare that I made from an Emma Hall pattern. He is ready for Spring too!

Nuts about Squirrels

I made this little guy recently for a friend of my son who is nuts about squirrels.  He is made from felted wool sweaters.  I love working with wool because it is so forgiving.  The antique tin was the perfect back drop!

Valentine Crafternoon

Some friends spent a wonderful snowy afternoon in my cozy studio crafting handmade Valentines.  We had lunch and shortbread hearts and made some lovely Valentines.  I still have the most fun with paper, scissors and glue!

Even my mannequin Lucille dressed for the occasion

My Heart Belongs to You

A new doll and another project finished for 2015.  This little dolly has been sitting around for a while (several years) and just needed finishing.

I used an old linen calendar towel from 1967 for her pants and part of a one hundred year scripted letter for her party hat.  I like all the typography on this doll.

I made this soldered heart with the stamped solder technique in Terri Brush's molten lava II class.  I used some colored patina on it for a different effect.

Happy Valentine's Day to You!
